Although the RedWings pistol  is almost entirely made of metal, it remains light thanks to the use of appropriate materials and light, customised parts. Metal parts include the slide, frame and barrel of the replica. Lightweight, durable polymer parts include the pistol  grip panels.

The Rossi RedWings airsoft replica features a double safety that locks the trigger mechanism and prevents accidental firing. Access to the safety is very easy for both left- and right-handers - the mechanism lever is within thumb reach. This model also boasts a functional rear pressure safety which forces a proper grip on the replica to fire it, like the original live firearm.

The barrel of the replica has a 14 mm thread.
